Desert Devils RC Officer Positions

Officers Responsibilities

President

  1. Chairman of the Club

  2. To act as the lead representative of the Club in public and Club relations

  3. Presides over Club meetings

  4. Promotes Club membership to the general public

  5. Acts as a liaison between other motorcycle clubs, law-enforcement, etc.


Vice President

  1. Second-in-Command assuming the duties of the President; if the President is unable to or absent

  2. Presides over Club meetings in absence of President

  3. Coordinates Club events with President and/or Road Captain

  4. Intermediary between the President and Members/Potentials

  5. Assists President in promoting Club membership


Sergeant At Arms

  1. Assists President and Vice President in ensuring the Bylaws and Rules of the Club are not violated by Members

  2. Responsible for keeping order during Club meetings and/or events

  3. Secures patches of any Member who is removed or resigns within 48 hours

  4. Responsible for the safety and security of all Club Members

  5. Shall immediately notify the Officer Board of any threats to Club Members or Potentials and complaints by Club Members

  6. If unable to attend a run, shall pick an alternate Sergeant At Arms

  7. Promotes Member participation with charity runs and functions


Secretary

  1. Responsible for meeting roll call, keeping meeting minutes, sending out meeting minutes to the club and to the DDRC email for documentation

  2. Responsible for maintaining Member list, Bylaws and correspondence between the club and any outside organizations

  3. If unable to attend a run, shall pick an alternate Secretary

  4. Promotes Member participation with charity runs and functions


Treasurer

  1. Monitors and maintains an accurate record of Club funds and expenses, collecting funds, if applicable, from Members

  2. Ensures patches for new Members are ordered and correctly done

  3. Keeps a monetary ledger of all dues paid and owed

  4. If applicable, will collect funds for rides at club functions

  5. If unable to attend a run, shall pick an alternate Treasurer

  6. Promotes Member participation with charity runs and functions


Member Responsibilities

Tail Gunner

  1. Assist the Road Captain to ensure the safety of the Members during rides

  2. Experienced Rider preferred

  3. Ensures group is riding in the proper riding formation and lane position


Road Captain

  1. Shall brief the group on the destination, expectations of the road and hand signals at events, if applicable

  2. Responsible for Club members in the absence of the President and Vice President

  3. Facilitates the rides with the other club members

  4. Assist Members that break down or are in need of aid. Should be mechanically inclined and know basic first aid. Bringing tools and a first aid kit on rides

  5. If unable to attend a run, shall pick an alternate Road Captain

  6. Promotes Member participation with charity runs and functions


Lieutenant

  1. Demonstrates the principles of the Club

  2. Actively participates in Club functions and meetings

  3. Must fill in for an officer when an officer cannot attend an event

  4. Must assist officers as requested by officers of the club

  5. Has voting rights


Patched Members

  1. Demonstrates the principles of the Club

  2. Actively participates in Club functions and meetings

  3. Has voting rights


Potentials

  1. Adhere to Potentials responsibilities (see Bylaw 9)

  2. Conducts themselves in a respectful manner

  3. No voting rights
